WHAT SHOULD I HAVE MY COAT OF ARMS?

A playful museum education activity about Christian animal symbols for kindergarteners.

The children participating in the activity set out with Bonifác, the griffin cub “resident” in the Cathedral, to search for animals that strayed from Noah’s Ark. Along the way, they also discover the Cathedral itself.

In the second half of the program, a movement game and creative activity related to the topic help deepen the information and experiences gained during the tour.

  • Age group: middle and large groups, or for first graders
  • Duration: approx. 90 minutes
  • Location: Cathedral and Bishop’s Treasury
  • Course price: 1,800 HUF/person

For groups of more than 25 people, some classes may require group division, the details of which will be provided upon registration.

“STONE UPON STONE…” – PLAYFUL ACQUAINTANCE WITH THE PÉCS CATHEDRAL

During this class, children take a walk around the cathedral, while getting to know the materials, shape, and dimensions of the building up close. After that, we will build a wooden model of the cathedral’s three construction periods. Finally, the children can build a four-tower cathedral themselves from cardboard boxes.

  • Age group: 4-8 years (kindergarten and 1st grade), and 8-10 years (2nd-4th grade)
  • Duration: approx. 60 minutes, or 90 minutes
  • Location: around the Cathedral and the Cathedral Lapidarium
  • Price of the activity: 1,800 HUF/person

Pig-eyed, pig-nosed – “monster hunting” in the Cathedral Lapidarium

During the activity, as characters in a fairy tale, we take a short walk through the Cathedral Lapidarium. During the playful tour, we talk about the artworks on display here, their materials, and the techniques of production, according to the children’s age, we try to determine what they depict, and we get to know some of them better. Afterwards, we will look for copies of them in the present-day cathedral, and then in the craft workshop, children can make their own monsters out of clay.

  • Age group: 5-8 years
  • Duration: approx. 45-60 minutes
  • Location: Bishop’s Treasure and Cathedral Lapidarium
  • Course price: 1,800 HUF/person
